| Abigail Allwood, a geologist with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, investigates rocks in the Moroccan desert. By learning to recognize biosignatures within rocks on our own planet, astrobiologists hope to some day use this knowledge to search for evidence of past or present life on Mars.
