Overview
Issue 4 of the NASA Astrobiology Graphic History features the numerous missions that have visited locations in the outer Solar System. There are many mysteries for astrobiologists in the cold, dark expanse beyond the asteroid belt. Gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn may not be habitable planets themselves, but many of their moons raise serious questions about the potential life in a region of space that lies so far away from the warmth of the Sun.
