Mars Phoenix

A thin layer of morning frost is visible on the ground around NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander on the 79th martian day after landing (August 14, 2008). The frozen water begins to sublimate back into the atmosphere as the sun rises on the Phoenix landing site. This image has been enhanced to show color variations.
