This image shows "Duck Bay," an alcove in the rim of Victoria Crater.
NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity will roll down the slopes of
Duck Bay in early July 2007 and investigate the rocks inside the crater.

Tracks left by NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity as it traveled
along the rim of Victoria Crater can be seen clearly in this image taken
by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera on
NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft.

This image was captured as Opportunity examined a bright band around the
inside of Victoria Crater. Evidence suggests that this band marks the
top of what was an underground water table.
